"You could just stay here tonight." Amanda told Kyle after they made their way back from the fireworks down on the river. They'd had a little party for Ellie's birthday. It had been a rather long evening.
"I guess." He was carrying Rosie who was already asleep. At least the kitchen was clean before they left. Thankfully, Elliot hadn't wanted them to have an all night concert. Everyone was dragging. Amanda went to put Charity and Rosie to bed. Derrick took the couch. "No, I just think we should go back to my house. I should see what Mom says." She heard Kyle say as an after thought.
"Yeah. Maybe. I just don't know if my parents are up for me staying at home, though, with Amber, too." Kyle shrugged.
"Why not, I stayed there like forever." Amanda didn't get it.
"Yeah, I know, but it was different." Kyle sighed. "You were just in high school and pregnant, but Amber, well, its different."
Amanda guessed she understood.
"I don't think they'd like us there long term. Maybe a month or two, but it would get kind of old. And I don't want her thinking she's going to have to raise a grand-child for good." Kyle sighed.
Amanda blinked then, seeing things differently now.
"Well, if you want Rosie to stay here-"
"No, no, I wouldn't do that to you." Kyle shook his head.
"At least this week." Amanda hadn't gotten Eric to let her keep Evan. She guessed he was right. It would have been a lot of work.
"All right. But if she gives you any trouble, just call me?" He went to wake Amber up who was in Elliot's number one TV chair. Naturally, she didn't like the idea of having to go some place else for the night.
Amanda couldn't keep from laughing. It looked like Kyle had his hands full, but she knew she had to do her part too, with Rosie.
