Kyle was glad to get Rosie back, but he thought he had the wrong kid. She was nothing like his Rosie. This one was suddenly all grown up. The way she even pulled her hair back behind her ear was almost seductive. It was as if Amanda wanted her to grow up, over night. Rosie wanted to stay up late. Only eat fast food.
"What did you do to her?" Kyle finally questioned Amanda over the phone a few days later.
"What? She's just fine." Amanda was harsh.
"To you. She's-" He didn't want to say it, but Rosie was becoming Amanda. Self-centered and only wanting to do everything her way. Even pushy. "She's hates everything."
"I'm sure its just a phase. You know, we've been busy with Derrick and everything." She persisted.
"So that's your excuse. You always have an excuse." Kyle was bitter.
"Sorry." She groaned. "Look at you, you having to move out and all on your own with Miss Little Goodie Two Shoes." She snapped then.
"I did find a job." He reminded her.
"God, Kyle," she sighed. "I'm sorry if I'm not the perfect parent, as you evidently are."
"I just don't know if her staying with you was the best idea." Kyle then said.
"Don't say that." She was mad.
Kyle hung up. He knew Rosie wouldn't see her for a while because they had their little tour to get done. Hopefully, by then he could undo all the things that he knew Rosie wasn't.
