a peace of mind

"Well, she's just weird." That's all Olivia had to say about Ravi's encounter with Bridget. "At least she didn't come on to you." She smiled as she packed their picnic basket.

"Yeah, I guess." He snatched a strawberry from the cooler and took a bite and gave her the rest.

"Doesn't she know Liz is gonna do whatever she pleases. They're not really that much different." Olivia was ready to go.

"What are you gonna do when you meet your own sister?" Ravi asked then. "Maybe you two are alike too."

"Yeah, I highly doubt that." Olivia rolled her eyes at that.

He had the quilt. They were going to the concert. They had an hour before twilight. It was a nice evening for it.

"But you never know. You might be a lot like." Ravi smiled.

"Um, no." Olivia shook her head, no. "She knows my real mother, and I don't. And if I were her I would have found my sister, already. I would have made my mother see me...I mean my sister." She didn't want to talk about this.

"See you are the good sister." Ravi informed her as they got into the car and drove toward the park.

Olivia though her throat might be completely raw. She was almost in tears. Is this what she thought he meant? She would have to be the one to find her sister. Not the other way around? She wasn't sure she was up for that. Really. She was quiet then.

They found themselves a spot. Far from the crowd, actually. Ravi laid out the quilt. She got out all the fixings. Mainly finger foods and chicken salad sandwiches.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." Ravi told her.

"Its OK." She nodded as she opened a bottle of Italian soda for him. "We're good. And I can't let what may or may not happen get to me. Obviously, my Mom isn't much different from my adoptive Mom. Very private people. Obviously."

"Well, they don't know what they're missing." Ravi smiled as he sipped his drink.

The jazz music began to play.

"You know what we should do." Ravi smiled as if it would be the perfect thing to do. "Go camping. I have a feeling you would be really good at it."

"What about you?" Olivia guessed that did sound like an adventure.

"I'll just follow your lead. Just tell me what to do." He leaned back on his elbows.

"OK." She liked that idea. Olivia did like planning things. "But we'll need a tent."

"I bet Doyle has one." Ravi smiled.

She could live with that. "But you need to know how to make a real campfire."

"OK, I think we have some of those logs that are suppose to last or something, down at the drug store. I'll find something. I'll just google it." He winked then.

"I just don't know about an air mattress." She slightly scowled.

"We'll think of something." He nodded as if he'd take care of that too.

"This is your idea." She reminded him. He kissed her then as if she had nothing to worry about.
