not my cup of tea
"OK, I'm really trying to understand this?" Steve looked at Ravi point blank. Oddly, Ravi thought he'd just asked Steve the same question.
He was doing his best to do buddy kind of things with him, as of late. Like lunch. They played pool once, which Ravi would never try to again, since Steve was kind of loud and the darkness of the pool hall made Steve a little uncomfortable.
Now they were trying the sandwich place, nearby. Of course, he almost got in an argument with the guy who was making him a sandwich. Naturally, he took it apart and put it back together to his liking. The cheese had to be in the middle. Not on top.
"I don't think Olivia's sister likes you with their Mom." That was it in a nutshell.
"Why in the hell should I care what she likes?" Steve looked down right evil when he said it. "Sophia's nice and she's nice to me."
Ravi just stared at him wondering about the word nice. Were they having sex? Did he really need to know this? Why did Olivia make him do all the hard parts? Ravi nursed his Mountain Dew.
"Well, maybe you two could just go out on dates." Ravi tried to think of Ken and Barbie on a date not these two, where one was old enough to be his mother.
"She doesn't want to date me." Steve cackled then and Ravi looked around as if he hadn't meant to start trouble.
"She might like it." Ravi exaggerated a smile.
"How will I know? I never had a date." He looked at Ravi perturbed.
"I guess, Olivia and I could go out with you and Sophia." Even though he really didn't want too. "Look, wouldn't it be a good idea, if you had your own place so, so you can show everyone that you can take care of yourself." Ravi persisted.
"But I don't want to take care of myself." Steve looked at him point blank. "I want to take care of Sophia."
Ravi wasn't going to argue with that. It was time Penelope got used to Steve. That was all there was too it.
