it couldn't go without being unnoticed

"Everything is OK? Right?" Ian heard Derrick's voice. He really hadn't expected him to call. He was actually in bed, almost asleep.

When, it had happened in Derrick's room, it was such a hurry because Amanda and Rosie came home. Everything that was once amazing and brilliant was left in the cold. It wasn't necessarily unfinished, just not quite as wonderful as it was about to be. He guessed.

A part of him felt foolish for even thinking it might be. What if it never happened, again? There would just have to be. Another time. Soon. It was frustrating.

And to think it was his idea. Ian's. He just wanted it to be so..so he could be rational, perhaps, with his parents. Possibly, it didn't sound logical. And well, he was and wasn't a virgin, anymore.

He squinted hard then, thinking he just needed to get this over with, with his Dad. The talk. Should his Step-Mom be there, when he told him? He was sure Eric would mention something to them...any old time now. Or what if Oliver forgot? He was forgetting a lot of things these days.

He didn't know if he could explain it to them, thoroughly. So, therefore he'd done his research, thoroughly. As if he'd done a science experiment on himself. Except, there was no science to it.

"Ian? Ian, are you there?" Derrick woke him up.

"Yeah." He just didn't know what to say.

"Are you, OK?" Derrick asked again.

"Of course." Ian sighed. "Are you, OK?"

"Yeah, just fine." Derrick didn't sound OK, though.

"It was good." Ian smiled then. He didn't want to tell him it was great, or he might get a big ego about it. "When do you think we could do it again?" That was the important question. There was a momentum building here, and he wanted there to be a next time.

"How about lunch, tomorrow." Derrick told him nobody would be home then.

Now Ian felt better. There would be a next time. Most definitely.

  3. Good to know that Ian seems to want the same thing Derrick wants.

  6. I hope there is a next time. And I LOVED this line: "Everything that was once amazing and brilliant was left in the cold." It's like a song or something.
