almost a nice family moment

"I've never seen you nor your sister, this close before." Lon just grinned when Ellie got back to tell him everything going on with her mother and this Blake. "Its kind of sweet."

"Don't say that." She gave him a dead stare as he handed over Zoe. He had about out lasted himself with her. The infant really was attached to her mother. He loved being with Zoe, but add Charlie and Hannah to the mix, and he was exhausted.

She held on to Zoe who grabbed Ellie's finger immediately. She was trying to nurse her finger. Soon enough Ellie sat down and gave her what she wanted. Truly, she was spoiled and Lon couldn't help but wonder if the baby was a whole lot more like himself than he wanted to admit.

"Well, he sounds ...nice." He didn't know what to say. He'd served the kids sloppy joes, and they were off in the livingroom drawing pictures and listening to Celtic Christmas music. Charlie had found the CD and wanted it on. He had stood on his head for some strange reason. Lon guessed Hannah had showed him how. He hoped this was a good thing and not bad.

"I guess. I'm not going to worry about it." Ellie told him.

"Good." Lon hoped not. They had to get through April. He hoped the snow melted for good soon.

Just then, he heard Hannah screaming at Charlie. Lon had never heard Hannah sound like that. What could be the matter, he thought. Give them an inch and they took their very own mile..or so it seemed ..sometimes.

Lon ran to the livingroom. He'd never seen Hannah in such a fit. It was as if a bomb had gone off, and she'd changed into a real monster.
