and if

and if i ruled the world
i would make every country salute you
and if i ruled the world
i’d make you mine-the drums

Really, it was freaky to hear Finn's voice. Doyle didn't even know why he took the call. He was trying to eat a slice of raw carrot. But he was alone in the house. No one to tell him he couldn't take a slice out of the plastic container in the fridge.

Sure, he was fine. Couldn't be healtier, from what they told him down at the clinic. Kyle too. Naturally, Doyle only saw Finn the one time.

"Seriously, I don't do things like this. I don't." Finn started. "Its just, well, when I saw you. I knew. I just knew you'd be...OK...and then when I didn't see you again, I got your number..so I hope you're not mad....Here's the deal. Can I see you. I mean, doesn't have to be anything major."

Doyle stopped chewing. He knew it would sound like he had marbles in his mouth. "What do you have in mind?"

"What?"

He coughed up the carrot and almost threw up in the trash in Kyle's mother's kitchen. He didn't even live here. Suddenly, he felt so out of it. He'd have to sit down at the kitchen table, listening to his cell, intently.

"Where? What..uh, what do you have in mind?" Doyle thought he'd lost him for a second.

"Well, I was gonna be in this photo shoot." Finn told him. "And I thought you could come along - and-"

"Photo shoot?" This sounded odd. Doyle squinted hard. What sort of person was he? He supposed Finn was a nurse. He did want to see him. He did..he thought so.

"Its not porn or anything." Finn sighed. "I have this friend who lives in the country, and he likes to do these goth shoots. Not that I've ever been paid, but its kind of fun, being in these old houses. We did some photos on the top of this old building not that far from where I work, in the dark. Its just the drive is kind of long and I don't want to go alone. And..you know, I think the photographer would find you interesting." There was a silence then. "We could have dinner."

"Uh..." Doyle was thinking he should say, no. He definitely should, but he said, "Yes."
