exceptionally so

The housewarming felt long over due. Amanda just wished it could be at Elliot and Sam's instead of at her house.

It felt funny, thinking of it as Amanda's place, but she guessed it always had been. She wondered now. Of course, it wasn't beautiful. They needed to do more repairs, here and there, but it was cozy and she had a houseful.

Rox helped out with the kids, and Asa cooked. It was great, Olivia had time to talk to her. She'd brought her sister Penelope along with Ravi. And Doyle was with Finn.

Of course, Derrick supplied entertainment. He hadn't plugged in, out back. Instead, it was all acoustic. He and Ian played around. It was music. Nothing of concert value. Just having fun. It was nice to have old friends around. Kyle seemed comfortable with Rox. She guessed they really were a couple. At least, Rosie wasn't going on and on about them. She had Jai and they were off making some crafty thing with Hannah.

"Well, is he, OK?" Amanda was still shocked about what happened to Charlie. Other than a gash on the side of his forehead and a little blue cast that looked nothing like the cast she remembered when she was a kid, Charlie was right there in the middle of it with all the kids. He was a bundle of energy.

"Yeah, amazingly so." Still Ellie looked as if she'd gotten the brunt of the aftermath. She seemed tired, but happy to be home.

"Looks, like you still have Hannah." Amanda didn't know what else to say.

"Yeah, she didn't want to stay. Not even for a little bit." Ellie nodded.

"Wow, you're like this professional Mom now, you know." Amanda told her, but she could see Ellie wasn't so sure you wanted that title.
