it will all end in tears

"So what are you keeping from me, really?" Leon cornered Roger at the campus coffee shop a few days later.

"Maybe I should ask you, what's up with you and Tyra?" Roger never saw her. He guessed she was around.

Leon just smiled as if she might be the magic word. "No, this is about you?" He got back on track on his question as they sat down in the corner having a frozen drink.

"What about me?" Roger scowled.

"You know, you and Ryan." Leon wanted to know.

"What about her?" He winced.

"She's trans-gender." Leon reminded him.

"So." She kissed like a girl to him, but he wasn't all that upset about it.

"She asked about you." Leon sighed.

"And?" Roger winced. Seriously, he needed to forget about that night with her. It was fun, but perhaps it was best to leave it alone. He didn't want to start anything, especially if Ryan had a girlfriend.

"She wanted your phone number." Leon sucked at the berry smoothie then.

"Oh really." That's all he needed, he thought, a texting stalker. "You didn't give it to her, did you?"

"No." Leon told him. "I really think you should leave her alone."

"I am." Roger scowled. He was doing his best to make this a solo summer. Time a part from everyone. But he couldn't help but want to smile,  Ryan liked him. It was the oddest thing.

  1. Sometimes, it's best to leave things alone, but I don't think that this is one of those times (:
