an unlikely duo

Asa was so happy to be back home. He felt as if maybe the workshop gave him a second wind. It was almost like a retreat. He guessed. And it was a pleasant surprise seeing Mae, but she was married and her husband was overseas. She was expecting him home soon. He couldn't help but be excited for her. Her husband was on his last tour of duty. He could imagine a happy homecoming for them. It was good to see her. Still, he felt a little silly how he'd had a crush on her. Hopefully, she didn't know then. She'd never know now.

But he was back. And the library was still its quiet self. The computers in the computer lab were still going. Although, he thought a couple needed new monitors. He worked on that his first hour before the library opened. Perhaps, he did more than he should have, but he knew how to recycle the equipment they received from donations or what CITY might give them of what they didn't want, anymore.

And then he saw Milo.

"Hey, its good to see you." Asa told him.

"It is?" Milo was his stoic self.

"Yeah, I missed you." Asa smiled. "We should go out, some time. Guys night out."

"I dunno." Milo was working the disc machine to repair DVDs. "I've got a whole marathon of Downton Abbey to get too."

"Do you? I've been meaning to watch it." Asa found himself inviting himself over. He was sure of it. If anyone needed a friend it was Milo.
