lets be mellow yellow

"Jesus, are you serious?" Jules cracked up in a laugh. Why would Ian think he could tell him what to do? "I'm not a love guru, mate." He was on his cell as he'd just finished up his class to get back to the coffee shop.

At the moment, he couldn't complain. Things couldn't be better with Willow. And suddenly, he felt as if he'd rather be helping out in someone else's crisis than..god forbid, having his own.

"Do you love her?" He wanted to know about Ian's situation. Ian looked pretty chummy with this Lola, or so Jules thought. What could be the problem? "You can't be doubting yourself, now. You know, you'll do the right thing. You always do." Sure, Jules felt Ian was a wee bit pompous, sometimes, probably got it from that brother of his. Jules still couldn't think of his name. Not Oliver. The other one. Eric. The half-brother. He knew Ian worshiped that one. Still.... who was Ian calling? They were best mates. That alone brightened Jules' smile.

He couldn't tarry too long, though. Sure, the place was practically empty about now, but there would be a few late lunch goers, Jules expected. And he knew Topher needed to leave. Probably, to pick up Josie, after school.

"Just don't stress about it." That was all Jules could think to say. "Call me later." He hung up then and put his cell away.

Of course, when he got to the shop, he thought he'd walked in on something with Willow and Topher. This was new. He guessed. They were old friends.

"Who died?" He looked at them both as he went to put his coat and messenger bag away. No one said a word. Jules got himself some coffee, to see if he should make some new. Possibly, he should. Just the drags remained. Someone was slacking off, but he didn't think it was the time to complain. He went to make some new.

"Do you know..anything..anything about Josie?" Willow finally managed to muster up, but she looked as if she might explode if he said anything.

"Josie?" Jules winced a grin. "What about, Josie?" But he knew he annoyed Willow, by even saying her name. A slight quiver to her right eye. Barely noticeable, but Jules noticed.

Jules looked at the coffee grounds in the bottom of his cup. Quite disgusting. He tossed the cup, and looked back at the two of them.

Customers arrived. They wanted coffee. Jules told them it would be a moment. They looked at the goods, and asked for the last two pieces of quiche. He went to warm the quiche.

A few minutes later, after ringing them up, he went back to Topher and Willow who hadn't moved from the table near the cash register.

"God, you're killing me, you know. What? Is going on?" He squinted hard as if he didn't have time for a game of Jeopardy.

"Topher..found out...Josie's pregnant." Willow wasn't smiling.

"And?" Jules felt there was more to it, but what? He almost smirked, then it hit him what they were thinking. "Jesus, you seriously think, I have something to do with it?" Jules face turned to a disgusted stare. He couldn't believe either of them, would think such a thing.
