in a fog
"I wish the bed was bigger." Derrick sighed as he looked at their handy work in Rosie's room. Max helped him move out Rosie's things. Her little play kitchen was in the livingroom now, along with all her stuffed animals on the bookshelf with all her favorite books.
"Its not that big of a room." Max shrugged. Most of the rooms were small in the old house. Closet space wasn't much, either.
"As if I didn't know that." Derrick sighed in thought, wondering what else to do.
"Sorry." Max was tired. He'd been at the theater for a few hours. Mainly, he was at concessions. But he was on his feet, and that would take some getting used too. He knew he could do the job, but it was all so new. He wanted to keep this job. Of course, he nor Derrick ever worked at the same time. Derrick mainly worked on weekends. "It doesn't feel weird, you know, having her here." Max sighed. "I mean, I see her around, all the time."
Of course, now he'd have to make sure he didn't come to the kitchen in his underwear just to grab a glass a milk. He yawned then.
Derrick was being awful quiet. "Why is this happening?" Max winced.
"Asa's adopting the baby." Derrick hugged himself.
"And you're all right with that?" Max wondered.
"I have to be. Or..or her Dad's going to bring up charges on me, statutory rape." Derrick told him.
Max's eyes widen. He thought on this. Maybe that's why he wasn't too keen on having sex with Daisy. He bit his bottom lip in thought. He said nothing more. It was something Max didn't want to dwell on.
