on a roll

Audrey strolled into the hot summer night. Fireflies about, but not for long. Too much of a crowd near the band. It was a lot of bodies to get through to just get closer to the band. She spotted Stefan. But she thought back how it was with him. He was so unreliable. Maybe that was why she did what she did. The drugs. At first to get back at him. But she'd lost herself in the process.

Audrey stood and watched from the crowd as the band was mostly a cover band for Green Day. It was a little annoying. Who did Topher think he was?

She backed into someone. When she turned, the face was so familiar.

"OH MY GOD!" She let out a cheer. It was her little brother. Well, he wasn't so little, anymore. They lived in the same town and she never saw him. When he left home after high school. He didn't come back. "Lucas! What are you doing here?" She threw her arms around him.

"You aren't under house arrest?" He smirked. She took his hand and lead him out of pool of people and headed him back up the hill to where Aidan stayed to munch on brownies.

"You, are so bad." She told him on the way. "You never return my phone calls. You don't even call Mom and Dad, ever."

"I have a life." He reminded her.

"Oh, yeah, handing your body over to science." Audrey remembered well, as she rolled her eyes. Lucas didn't drink nor smoke. "How's that working out?" Last she'd heard, he was making two thousand a month being a guinea pig at some drug study place.

"Well, I'm not doing that anymore." He confessed on their way. "Not after they couldn't even do a blood test on me, properly." He worked for a blood mobile now. "I'm a vampire." He teased. "Let me drain your blood supply." He mocked as if he might be an old vampire.

"Yeah, right." She looked him over. He was still the slacker he always was. She didn't waste time talking about what he should have and shouldn't have done in his life. "Look who I found, Aidan?" She smiled. "Its Lucas. You, remember Lucas, don't you?"

Aidan got up. Shook Lucas' hand. Lucas assured him that everyone called him Luc but her. She'd always wanted Aidan to meet her brother, but she kept forgetting about it.

  3. Nice to hear from you. I've been incredibly busy lately.

My writing has actually been a ton of scripts - about 15 in the past 6 months or so.

I hope I'll get some time to catch up on your stories. I'm glad you're still updating. Hope all is well.
