best friend's house

Dorian wasn't sure what he was doing, anymore. After he left Quinn, he didn't go home. Of course, there were several phone messages from his family. He'd at least made up something that he was off with a friend. As if it might be a fishing trip of some kind. He told them he was off to Minnesota. He wasn't sure how smart that was since he had no place to go. Well, the swimming pool, but he hardly got any hours there as a life guard these days.

There was the Derrick matter to consider, too. Derrick wanted him to come out to his parents, but that hadn't happened, either. Honestly, he had a plan, but it wasn't quite as simple as it sounded. First he'd need his own place, but that meant having a real job.

At least he had his truck. He'd spent his first night down at the park. Dorian didn't like it. He just couldn't get comfortable. There were the applications. Nobody seemed to be hiring. And then he gave blood, thinking he might make some money that way.

"Its plasma, you can make a little money on." The fellow down at the blood bank told him. Actually, he was the first person he'd found to be encouraging. He seemed like the type who never met a stranger. Dorian wished more people were like him.

Finally, Dorian settled on finding out if their were any work study jobs available, and that's what led him to the coffee shop on campus. It was at the coffee shop that he saw the friendly guy who was from the blood place.

"Dude, did you get any money for your plasma?" He was all smiles as he was finishing up lunch with some girl who left before he did. He had half a sandwich left. "Dorian? Right?" Dorian forgot the blood guy's name.

Luc reminded him again with a handshake. He offered him a seat, asked him what he'd like to drink. Before he knew it, Luc was buying him lunch.

"You don't look so good." Luc told him. "I know I'm a stranger and all, but uh..I know your blood type." Luc smirked. "You sure, everything is OK?" All Luc had to do was ask and Dorian told Luc everything.

"You can stay at my place, until you decide what to do." Luc shrugged as if it were no big deal.

Of course, Luc hadn't mentioned the mess at his little apartment, either. It wasn't all that far from the campus, and it looked pretty good about getting the job at the coffee shop, since there wasn't anything at the moment with work study.

Hopefully, things were looking up for Dorian. Luc offered him a couch to sleep on and maybe Luc would get some clutter taken care of in the process.
