making a scramble

Dorian read Eli's poetry. There was something fierce about his writing. As if he might be mad about something.

"You, do a lot of fighting in your poetry." Dorian came to the conclusion when he saw Eli the next Saturday at the library. It seemed Eli liked meeting him at the library, as if they were going to start their own writing club.

"But it's not a bad thing, Right?" Eli said, squinting as if he knew what he was doing.

"I guess not." Dorian shrugged. He wasn't really sure what sort of answers Eli wanted. He told him it was descriptive enough. It was hard for Dorian to figure out if Eli even liked him because he enjoyed arguing. Dorian wasn't sure if he were very good at arguing. He strived in being agreeable. Actually.

"Well, maybe he likes, you. Really likes you." Luc told him later when Dorian was back, and they were trying to figure out how to make an omelet out of deli ham and cheese.

"No, I don't think so." Dorian didn't see it. He didn't think Eli really had friends. Yet, they'd spent a good four hours together. Not completely at the library. They'd stopped at an out of way deli and ate sandwiches out by the soccer fields after the morning games were over. It was rather uneventful. Of course, Eli kept talking about some band he wanted to see. Dorian mentioned the Moriessy concert coming up, but Eli nixed that right away. It was as if Dorian needed to listen and nod ever so often to let Eli know he was listening.

"God, we gotta go grocery shopping." Luc picked up some moldy cheese. He went to cut off the bad parts.

"Maybe..maybe Eli just doesn't know what to do...around you." Luc let out a shrug.

"I bet that's it." Dorian rolled his eyes at that. He knew Eli was only around because possibly Dorian was the only person who could stand him. Eli was gruff in class. A part of Dorian wondered if the professor had Eli's name written down somewhere on a list of WOULD BE TERRORISTS. Dorian knew if he were the professor, he would.

"Heard anything from Olivia?" Dorian wondered how she was doing. At least Luc went to the funeral. Dorian had to work.

"No. I mean, I don't expect to." Luc dug in the cabinets and finally found some canned mushrooms. At least they hadn't expired.

"You, should call her." Dorian didn't see anything wrong with that.

"I dunno. It would be...weird." Luc opened the can of mushrooms and started a skillet with butter.

"You, should just do it." Dorian stared at Luc.

"Then why don't you ask Eli what he wants to do with you?" Luc glared back.

It was easy to see nothing was going to change anytime soon. Hopefully, they'd figure out how many eggs they really needed to make an omelet.

"Oooh..tots!" Luc found some in the freezer. He was all smiles as he tossed some in the skillet. This was beginning to look more like an egg scramble.

  2. Luc should have more confidence. I think she'd be happy to hear from him - especially now. :)

  6. They're great. They remind me of myself and a friend of mine.

The future terrorists are always the poets, obviously.
