tell me something
Asa supposed he was getting the hang of it. Living with a baby. He really hadn't expected Josie to up and leave.
He wondered if it had to do with the fight she had with Derrick. Of course, she would have never used the word FIGHT. It was a discussion. A very loud one, at that. Asa would never dare mention it.
Of course, it upset the baby and maybe that was why things went as quick as they did. She'd leave if Derrick would leave.
Actually, Asa stayed out of it. Yet, he couldn't help to be a little worried with Derrick. Yet, he'd called his brother to make a point. He helped Derrick get his stuff sorted. And Asa guessed Derrick was there now. He promised he'd call Asa once week, but he hadn't.
At least Max was back. Still the house was so quiet. Asa felt lost, once again. Asa actually had the crib in his room with him the first couple of nights. Honestly, he didn't want to be all alone. Finally, he manned up and figured out he was keeping Dylan up with all his watching. So he put the crib back in the nursery. Still, he could only sleep an hour or two with out getting up to check on him.
Then there was the matter about Matt and what went with the aftermath of his life. He couldn't help but think of Mattie and of course, her mother.
He'd tried his best to get some information from Audrey about her friend. Of course, Audrey said she didn't know anything about her now. Other than her address. It was at a trailer park.
"Do you want to see her, is that it?" Audrey wrote down the phone number and the address. Asa wanted to get in touch with her. Just to talk, but he couldn't admit this to Audrey.
Yes, he'd even drove through the trailer park wondering what kind of run down neighborhood she lived in. To his surprise, the place wasn't awful. Asa was pretty sure this woman wasn't looking for his sympathy, nor anything. Maybe he needed her more.
Although, he couldn't think of it closure. He wanted it to be a start of something. He wanted to know who Matt really left behind.

ReplyDeleteIt'll be great to see if they can connect.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very interesting last paragraph. Maybe closure IS the start of something.
