"You, are just bull-shiting me," Kyle said first thing when he saw Derrick at his place.

"Yeah-No..no I'm not." Derrick winced hard as if he wouldn't know the truth if it hit him. They were alone now. Daisy was in the guestroom. She was sick. She'd thrown up a few minutes after she got to Kyle's. Rox was with her.

"I think your bull-shiting me." Kyle kept glaring wanting to know the whole truth.

"I don't like it at my brother's. OK." Derrick's final answer as he rubbed his palm across his face in anguish. He plopped himself down on the couch in thought. "There is all that alcohol at my brother's. And..and..well...I know I have a problem."

Kyle crossed his arms wondering if he was sidetracking, waffling, anything but what was really going on. Especially, with Daisy.

"I dunno what to tell you. There are pills you can take to not having that..that urge to drink." Kyle told him.

"You think I need that?" Derrick looked up at him blankly.

"I'm not a doctor." Kyle sighed.

"I really need something like that. I do." Derrick was honest.

"What's going on with Daisy?" Kyle wanted to know. He heard Rox in the kitchen now. She was peeling potatoes, tending to supper. If Derrick wasn't here, he'd be in the kitchen helping. He knew she needed a break. Not all this extra company.

"Its OK. Everything is going to be OK." Derrick shrugged.

"Oh, really?" Kyle doubted that as he shoved his hands into his jean pockets.

"Its getting fixed, right now." Derrick sighed.

"What's getting fixed?" Kyle winced. Derrick was beginning to make Daisy sound like a car.

"Morning after pill. Except, it might be more like night after." Derrick drew a breath.

"Are you serious?" Kyle was ready to lift Derrick off the couch and give him a shove.

"Look, she doesn't want anybody to know. Besides, she doesn't remember. I don't remember." Derrick winced as if he was just as baffled. "I promise, if..if ...I get her through this..I'm going to change. I'm really going to change, Kyle. I will. But..just don't make me go back to my brother's. I want to stay with you. Just let me stay with you guys, OK?"

Kyle wanted to believe him, but he was sure Derrick was the last thing they needed at their house.

"And what about Daisy?" Did she come with the deal, too?
