what if its true
"But you don't have to tell me." Fish shook his head, no.
Shan felt weird being here at the gym the night before the big dance.
"I have to..I have to tell someone." He winced.
"OK, sure." Fish put down a streamer and they went out into the cold to talk alone on the high school steps at the back of the band hall.
"I didn't do anything wrong." Shan told him.
"OK." Fish shrugged, looking at him as if he didn't know what Shan was talking about.
"I..I had this pot, OK." He sighed. "I-I wanted to get rid of it. I would have, if..if Henry hadn't came with me on my trip last fall. I just didn't need it. So..so I took it to Cedric's." Shan felt disgusted even with himself now. He rubbed his arms. It was colder than what his army jacket could take. He watched steam come from Fish's mouth when he spoke.
"Why are you telling me this?" Fish stared at him.
"Henry hates me now." He felt hot tears under his eyelids. He winced in pain.
"Henry couldn't hate you." Fish smiled as if that would be just ridiculous.
"Apparently, he does," He wiped a tear away while the other shed down his face.
"Have you told him this?" Fish was serious.
Shan shook his head, no. "He won't shut up. He won't. He..he accused me ..of.." He shook his head as if he couldn't bare to repeat it. "He thinks I cheated on him with Cedric."
"Oh." Fish bit his bottom lip.
"I didn't cheat on him. I wouldn't. But, he..he doesn't trust me." Shan felt so miserable.
"Its not the end of the world. You'll fix this. He'll come around. Sooner or later, he'll know he's an idiot." Fish told him.
Shan couldn't help but want to hug him.
"Look, if you want to hang out at the dance with me-" Fish started to say even if he wasn't quite hugging Shan back.
"Yeah, yeah..I'd..I'd like that." Shan backed out of the hug then and looked at Fish. It was good to have a friend to talk too.
