mixing it up

Shan took Henry home with him that night after the party. He wanted Henry to know he wanted to be with him, and only him. Besides, he didn't want Henry finding his way back to Cedric's party somehow.

Shan definitely didn't like seeing Alf chummy with Henry. Maybe that was what made Shan kiss Henry more, trying to escape the feeling Henry might slip away from him.

Shan didn't think about his little sister Bree nor his Dad nor anyone else that night. Henry was the only one on his mind.

Thankfully, there was no more arguing. And maybe he felt closer to Henry, than ever before. He hoped it was true. It definitely felt like it.

Nothing felt more sublime to him now, than having Henry in his room on a very cold night. Hopefully, they both learned something from Cedric's epic parties. Don't go to them.

"We, are still going to have fun." Henry informed him a few days later. As if no way was Shan going to get out of not going to a party with him.

"Josie and I have finally decided to have a good old fashioned dinner party." Henry was excited that he was helping Josie host a party at her house.

"Oh, really." Shan's smile was quick as if he'd be up for it.

"Josie and I were going to do all the cooking. Like, Italian or something, but her mom said she'd do it. So that gives us more time to plan games." Henry blazed one of his fabulous smiles at lunch. He was already making a list in his brown leather journal.

"How many games are we talking about?" Shan couldn't help but slightly wince.

"Maybe half a dozen or more." He shrugged.

"That many?" He almost groaned, wishing he was outside already smoking a cigarette. He knew a special place where he wasn't watched on the campus camera. Henry was definitely making him feel the need for a cigarette.

"Yeah, we have to keep the party going, you know." Henry was back to grins, and jotting down another idea.

"Of course." Shan said with sarcasm. Luckily, Henry didn't notice. "Can't hardly wait."

"Is there anyone, you, can think of, to invite?" Henry wanted to know.

"I'm not sure." Shan winced. There was Fish, but if he invited Derrick, that might be awkward for everyone.
