here we are

What was she waiting for?

Kat didn't want Wild to know it. She was happy to see him. But the fact remained... They needed to be alone. And she needed to tell them the news, but she didn't want too, with Syreeta around.

It was strange how nice her family was to Wild and his little son. Maybe she was even a little jealous. She tried to shake that thought.

"We need to get you guys settled," her father said as he told Wild about the house next door. He promised it was just temporary. "Until, you can find a place of your own."

It felt rather permanent to Kat. Hopefully, though someone would help out with Keegan. She really didn't want too.

Soon enough, they were across the driveway. Her Dad unlocked the door while her mother walked with her. Fish and Syreeta were with Keegan.

Immediately, Wild was taken with the place. He would be, she thought, since his flat wasn't much bigger than a shoebox. They'd been cramped for space since the get go. This place wasn't exactly a palace, but there were three bedroom.

"Wow. I can't believe it." He was impressed with the little galley kitchen that she found a bit claustrophobic, but Keegan had his own room.

"He's going to love this." Her parents bought Keegan a race car bed.

"Yeah, like he's going to sleep in here alone." Kat rolled her eyes. Wild spoiled him. She knew Keegan was sleeping with him since she'd been gone.

"I think he'll like it." Wild nodded. "He's been really good about sleeping in his own space, lately."

She didn't believe him. Kat sighed. She wanted to try. She did, but it hurt to have to live with how complicated everything was now.

"I'm going to look into joining the police force." She announced as if she would try.

"Are you sure, Honey?" Her mother made it sound so dangerous.

"I'm a cop, Mom." Kat looked at her mother sternly. Her military training was in that area. Still, she'd have to go through more training to join the force here. "Its just." She pressed her lips tight. Did she really want to tell them? A part of her felt so defeated. "We're having a baby." She looked at Wild who was probably more stunned than anyone.

Her mother hugged her with happiness. Even her dad smiled at the news. Now Wild was the quiet one.
