more than once or twice

dare

Seeing Jama again, was like remembering all those songs she used to play in her car from The Sounds. The band was the soundtrack of her life. Sometimes, Ian wondered if she was only trying to keep up with Jules, back then.

He always imagined her a fighter, even though she lost to Jules a lot, when they were together. Now she didn't even notice he was here.

"I remember you," she finally let a smile give away. "I know you don't think I would, but I do." She asked him what he was doing here?

He couldn't imagine her actually working. He thought for sure she'd be as far from her father's pub as possible.

She didn't have much to say about it. Ian supposed it was the economy. Jama wasn't around the last time he was in the village.

She mentioned his mother then. Told him she was sorry for his loss.

When she looked at him now, he was pretty sure all she could see was a little boy she kept telling him he was, not so long ago. But it was strange to see her. She looked a little tired now. He didn't think she was near the party girl she used to be.

"That's not the Jules, I remember." She whispered. Ian told her he was married now.

She almost laughed but then said good for him, as she went to take some empty glasses from the counter. Ian then asked if they were looking for any help at the pub.

  1. I'm still trying to figure out if her appearance is a good thing - or a bad thing. Only time will tell... :/

  2. Its good to see the two sides of the story. Jules might not know the whole truth. Of course, she might not know the whole truth about him, too.
