imagine that

Imagine That

"God, you would have thought by now they would have found him." Josie was pretty smug when it came to Derrick. The police were evidently not doing their job.

"Well, they found his car." Sky stared at her as if something was happening.

Josie felt like this was one long headache that would not go away. The cops had been to her house digging for any info they could on Derrick.

"How does someone fall off the face of the earth like that?" She winced hard as if the earth opened up and ate him. A part of her didn't care, but still she couldn't help but wonder just where he was.

"I'm sure he'll bounced back somewhere." Now Sky was being a little coy as he pushed his long dark shock of hair out of his eyes while he waited at the counter of the coffee shop for Josie to bring him a green smoothie.

"He's going to pay for this, this time." She gritted. He needed to be punished. Mitch was still in pain and in a hospital bed.

"Which reminds me, you want to go see Mitch?" Sky sighed.

"Of course." She looked at Sky as if he might think of something else. She sighed as if it might be a signal.

Were they just friends? There was a part of her who hated this. They went out together. A lot. But it was to pick up groceries, or take Carrie to the park. People were starting to ask if they were a couple. It was so annoying. She nursed her bottom lip.

Maybe they shouldn't be doing this.

Just friends.

She really needed to be dating. Of course, no one was asking her out. Maybe it was all Sky's fault.

She really didn't want to bring it up. Because, maybe it wasn't that important. No, things like getting Derrick off the streets was important. Making sure Mitch was OK. That was important.

But sooner or later they were going to have to talk. It really was important to her.

  3. Maybe they are dwelling on others..instead of themselves.
