"Bummer.." Shan gave Leo a slap on the shoulder. He didn't know what else to say about his breakup with Henry other than..yeah..I knew it would happen sooner or later...but he didn't. "Just get yourself back out there, you know." He nodded as if that were the positive thing to say. He couldn't say much. They were at the movie theater on duty in their movie suits.
"Is that what you did?" Leo's words were a little hurtful, or maybe even out of spite.
"No, I didn't." Shan looked at him straight on. He didn't want to explain to his ex's ex-boyfriend about how he was falling in love with a friend the same time he was falling out of love with Henry. "You'll know it when you see it."
But he knew Leo wouldn't take his word for it, as Leo's lanky body slumped more. Just as he was going to tell Leo to snap out of it, there they were again. Someone who looked like his little sister with a boy.
Shan squinted hard as if he might actually need glasses. It was Bree with a boy. He scrunched a face, not wanting to believe it.
"So what are you doing here?" He snapped when he found her by the arcade.
"Its a free country, bro." Her friend piped in, who had an empty bag of popcorn.
Shan gave him a funny look, but the child walked away to get free popcorn.
"What are you doing with him?" Shan weighed in on this so called outing of Bree's. "I thought you were only seeing Connor."
"I don't know where you've been, but that's been over, ages ago." Her frown was small but her voice sounded just like Mr. Troubles.
"Has he brained washed you?" Shan wanted to know with his hands shoved in his pockets.
"Who?" She wasn't giving away answers.
"That little kid you're with." Shan's brow furrowed in discontent.
"You mean, Rosco? We're in the same grade." She clarified.
"Well, he's a child to me and so are you." He informed her as if he might call home this instant.
"Uncle Rowdy knows we're here." She hugged herself and the big drink she was sharing with Rosco.
Shan summoned what customer service he might have in him to be pleasant, but he didn't want to be.
