a matter of time

Tell Me

Alo just wanted Vada to let go. At least for a week or so while they were visiting his Mom.

But he could see she was worried about Frankie.

"He's gotta a plan. He's practically ready for classes to start at the University." Alo reminded her that Frankie even got a job at the University Bookstore. He was not completely helpless.

"Right." But she didn't look happy about the idea.

"Hey, its not like you've had to take care of him, all of his life. He's gonna be fine." Besides they had a plane to catch.

And even Frankie was there to see them off. They'd be in Edinburgh before they knew it. Alo hoped Vada had a good time.

She nodded, but he could see even with a squeeze, she was already sad. He thought she might even be crying.

"He's gonna be fine. It'll all be fine." Alo couldn't help to smile. What could go wrong?

a matter of time

Vada did hate to leave her brother. She gave him a hug, but he barely hugged back. She should have expected it. He seemed more worried about getting to work than seeing her off.

"Make sure to call me, you know." She looked at him as if they had to stay in touch.

"I know." He shrugged with a dead serious stare. "Have some fun, OK?"

She did wonder if Alo prompted him. She didn't think fun was in Frankie's vocabulary.

Even Henry and Josie were there to see them off.

"Promise I'll be moved out, by the time you get home." Henry smirked.

"It can wait." Vada glared at him. Why was he in such a hurry?

"Don't let him talk you into anything, you don't want to do." Vada reminded Josie they still had a lot of catching up to do. They seriously needed a party of some kind. Something grownup, though, like a dinner party.

"I will." Josie almost laughed. "Take lots of pictures."

Vada forced a smile. She really didn't want to go, but that all changed once they were ready for take-off. Alo squeezed her hand.

"I hope your Mom doesn't hate me." She sighed.

"She would never do that." Alo gave her that silly grin she adored so much. Deep down, she knew in her heart, some day..she wanted a little boy, just like him.
