Ben wondered where Mae went. Although, he kept busy with the graphic novel stickers and the tape as Taylor would hand one over, let him fix it and Taylor would put it back in its place on the shelf.

He guessed they were a pretty good team, even if they weren't working all that fast, but then again, neither were getting paid.

"So are you dating her, or what?" Taylor's voice was low, but he asked about Mae.

"Actually, yes." Ben decided he didn't want Taylor to think they were not dating. He wanted Taylor to believe that Mae was taken. "I mean, its..kind of serious, I guess."

"Cool."

"What about you?" Ben thought he should ask as he looked over his shoulder. He could imagine Taylor with Cassie. Well, he didn't imagine much, but they'd make a nice couple.

"I don't have any money to ask anyone out." Taylor explained.

Ben nodded. This was possibly the case with Mae, but then..she probably wouldn't go out with him, anyway. He hated to tell Taylor he was a liar. But they weren't really friends, anyway.

"Hey, maybe we could hang out some time." Taylor said he usually managed a movie on 5 bucks Tuesday. "Or you know, we could just walk around and act like we have a place to go."

Ben shrugged. He did need to walk more. His mother was always on his case to walk more.
