Taylor cringed at the thought of someone actually eating this cake as he pushed down chocolate chips on the melted marshmallows on top of the oven hot brownies.
"Is it suppose to look like this?" He made a face as he looked to Scott who was getting the mixing bowls washed.
"I dunno. There wasn't a picture." He shrugged.
"Why am I doing this?" He winced, thinking of Essie... giving him the riot act for not having a job yet, and it was her birthday.
"You, said ..you'd do it." Scott looked at him point blank.
Taylor sighed as he looked at the mess.
"And we have people, coming over?" He gritted.
It wasn't exactly a birthday party, and her friend Vada wouldn't be here.
"We'll just put lots of ice cream on it." Scott was quick to smile, as Taylor put the rectangular pan in the fridge to cool.
He'd already sorted her yarn which took practically the whole month while he was watching American Ninja nightly. At least they were all neat round balls in various colors, placed in a plastic container.
He could never remember Essie ever crocheting nor knitting, but she'd tried to remember what their grandmother had taught her, that was before she had Katherine. Actually, Taylor crocheted a cap for Katherine and it was quite adorable. Even, Essie asked how he did it.
"I don't know." He'd said, hoping she didn't go around telling all her friends how he was crocheting now. It was after all, one simple little newborn hat. Nothing fancy about it. Purple, of course.
Anyway, Taylor did his part for the birthday.
"Don't forget to vacuum the livingroom." Scott reminded him. They had guests coming at seven.
