Ducky focused on breakfast.
There were the quick hellos and Ducky went right to the frying pan. He decided to make French toast.
He wasn't quite sure if Xander was arguing with his younger brother, but he guessed Xander had a right too.
Simon walked here in the freezing cold.
"Well, I'm calling Mom." Xander got on his cell.
Ducky looked at the time, it was only a little after seven. He beat the eggs with some milk and and cinnamon and found the bread to sop into the mixture. It felt like an eternity for the butter to melt.
"Who are you?" Simon asked while Xander was on the phone.
"What?" Ducky winced, trying to decide, but it was perfectly clear. "Um, I'm your brother's boyfriend." He smiled ever so clever.
After all, there weren't many people who had heard the entire album of Gary Numan's remixes. Yeap, he thought that's where it all started. And then the kissing. Oh, those kisses.
But he wouldn't discuss, that was all there was. No, Xander's brother could think what he wanted.
Still, Ducky was right where he wanted to be. He tossed the white bread into the skillet and let it sizzle. He waited for the edges to crisp, and in seconds, it did. He flipped the toast and smashed it a bit with the spatula.
"I told her, I'd take you to school." He heard Xander say.
"But we have to have breakfast." Ducky informed him.
"All right." Xander didn't sound he was exactly pleased about it.
Ducky handed him a plate with two slices of French toast.
Xander pressed a smile and handed it to Simon. Xander went to get the syrup from the fridge.
Ducky kept quite. He hoped he hadn't said too much.
