Omaha was certain this was all wrong. Perhaps, Taylor and Sara were doomed. How could they go off on a cruise and get married? No one was invited.
"You're just mad because YOU thought you were his best man." Sheena looked at him as if this was no time to get depressed. Thanksgiving was in a few days.
Omaha felt his eyes sting. He didn't want to cry about it. "But..but what about Ben?" He told her he didn't have to be Taylor's best man. After all, he'd had his say about Sara. That must have been the cause of all of this. Ben should have been Taylor's best man.
They'd sent them off at the airport a few hours ago. Still, he felt so alone now, at Taylor and Sara's house. He wasn't quite sure he even wanted to cook in the kitchen, but he needed to stay busy. He'd gotten out the ingredients for pie crust.
"Look, you have to remember, this isn't about you. They got the money from Sara's parents, even Taylor's dads gave him plenty to get ready for this cruise." Sheena said as she went to find a bowl.
He reached for the Crisco. Sheena went for the butter. They were about to do their pie crust challenge.
Omaha looked at the cooking disaster about to happen.
"We should wait." He finally decided, as he heard his echo through the house. They were really alone. They might not ever be this alone, again.
Perhaps, having Taylor and Sara on a cruise, did have it's perks.
"What are you talking about?" She looked at him startled. He saw that fun smile of hers. Omaha grabbed her around the waist from behind, when she went to look for pie pans.
"I don't think we've been..." He pressed a smile as if he wouldn't put this moment off, any longer. "Romantic enough." He whispered in her ear and felt her giggle in his arms.
He certainly wouldn't question it. After all, that butter needed to soften up. He was certain they could do something that would hardly take 30 minutes. But then, oh cuddling. He better not forget that.
She kissed him as if she was ready for this moment, after all.
