its gonna happen, some day

it's gonna happen, some day

Joon thought long and hard how he'd tell Natalie how he felt by Valentines day. He wanted to make it, a big production. Like a nice dinner out on the town, maybe even a horse drawn carriage around the old market. Except it was winter, and snowing, and he found out the carriages only went about during the summer.

He'd have to think of something else, but what? He was busy making coffee at the Campus Coffee shop. She'd gotten a call from someone. He suspected it was Holly, from her excitement.

Joon didn't have the heart to tell her to get off the phone. As it was it was after the busy morning rush of college students. Now all was calm as a few students worked on homework in the dining area.

"Guess what?" Natalie was all smiles when she found him in the back. He peeked out the kitchen window to see if anyone was at the counter.

"What?" He didn't want to be too optimistic since she might be fond of some teen idol he'd never heard of, who was coming on the concert tour on campus.

"Effy says there are some apartments available, where she and her boyfriend live." Natalie told him she'd sent in an application.

"OK." He guessed he'd have to be happy for Natalie, getting out on her own.

"The manager called, we've been approved!" She jumped for joy. Joon winced while she did a happy dance. How could that possibly happen?

"We?" Was she serious? "You and me?"

She nodded.

"My Grammy helped," she said. "I told her I couldn't think of anyone else I would rather live with, than you."

"Huh." He almost smirked. Did her grandmother think he was going to become a priest or something? "But..but she hasn't even met me?"

"Oh, but she's seen you at work, and she likes all the pictures I have of you, on my phone." Natalie admitted.

Joon wanted to laugh, but he thought it might be a cough.

"We can move in, Valentines day." She grinned.

Joon gritted a smile. This was the last thing he was expecting on such a holiday.
