what can I say to you

what can I say to you

Simon cried in his room a good long time after Valentina's visit. Honestly, he didn't know what to do.

She was his only hope. Thinking, he still had Valentina. But he didn't. Evidently, he never had her in the first place. She was just a friend. She'd never thought of him as a boyfriend.

Simon didn't plan on being so miserable, but nothing seemed to be going for him lately. Ivy was always with Will. His mother wanted him to come to Florida for Spring Break, but he didn't want to go. He couldn't stand the thought of having to spend time with her. His dad didn't speak about the divorce and now Xander and Ducky were being rather tense around each other.

"I just think I should leave." Simon finally told Xander when he brought him something to eat.

"Leave?" Xander looked at him ever so miserable. "Where would you go?"

Simon only shrugged. Maybe if he reinvented himself at school. He really wasn't a bad actor, but he wasn't a great actor, either.

"When school is out, we should go to Seoul," Xander told him it was too late to go anywhere on spring break. It would be his gift to Simon before he went off to the University.

At least Xander was hopeful. He then told Simon about Dakota moving back to Joey's. It had already happened.

"But-" Simon was sure it shouldn't happen. Xander was much more capable of taking care of Dakota, over her father.

Xander looked blue too. "Let's go to the Animal Humane Society."

"We're going to adopt a dog?" Simon winced.

"Probably not, but we could at least look, pet them and forget our troubles for at least a little while." Xander was donating some old towels and bags of dog food.

"We'll get through this somehow," Xander promised. "We might even meet someone worse off than we are."
