life goes on

Lux wasn't so sure she liked hanging out with Jordan.

"What are you up too?" Lux stuck to a schedule. Sure, she had her own basement apartment. She went to the University in the morning then was at the cafe by noon to work the lunch crowd until the evening. Luckily, her grandmother kept the baby, sometimes, her mom would help too.

She really didn't have time for some old friend from middle school.

"What do you mean?" Jordan looked hurt as if she/he needed friends too. Jordan was all alone now. Especially, when she was trying to decide when the best time would be to make her transition. Of course, her old man gave it a hell no. So Jordan would have to wait until...(Lux certainly didn't know).

"Don't you get counseling? Isn't there some support group you should be going too?" Lux winced. Her life was boring. If she wasn't breastfeeding, she was pumping milk. Sometimes, she got around to doing the laundry (which was what she was doing now).
Jordan said she/h didn't like those people. It was scary. She wanted to be around people she/he knew. So Lux let her stay and they watched TV and ate cold cereal.

Honestly, Lux thought Jordan might spend the night. And what was Lux to do if she said the wrong thing to Jordan, like if she said "She" when she should have said "He." It was frustrating. Still, Jordan seemed to be at home in Lux's little world of disposable diapers, and baby stuff, everywhere.

And then Wade came home.

Instantly, Jordan had her guard up. Why was he here?

"You let him sleep here?" Jordan was almost hostile about the matter.

"Well, he is my brother." Lux didn't want to go into detail that if he wasn't here he would probably be in jail, but since he had a job, they hadn't arrested him yet. After all, the only crime he'd committed was driving an old car that's tail lights were out and maybe a few other minor things that needed to be fixed. And the DUIs that kept adding up.

Of course, if Wade wasn't there she might have mentioned his STD.
