and then

Brian guessed most dramas didn't end well. He'd overheard some cleaning lady at the hospital talk about the ending of Game of Thrones.

As it was he felt he'd spent a week in hell, and he didn't know what time it was right now because he'd been by Ivy's side for what seemed to be days.

Of course, he hadn't expected so many people to be in the room with them, like her mom and even her brother came which shocked Ivy even more.

At first she was happy about his arrival, later she practically punched him. Told him he was the worst brother in the world. How could he have been gone so long? It was as if he'd forgotten he even had a family.

Her brother didn't really talk. Maybe he did, but Brian didn't think he heard him speak. He knew he was still an outsider and needed to be awake for the duration of the delivery of the baby.

It was on the news that Harry and Megan had a baby boy and the Royals finally named him Archie. Brian knew he shouldn't find anything significant about this, but he mentioned it to Ivy, between labor pains, if she wanted to name the baby Archie.

"What!" She grabbed the hair on the sides of his head and gave him practically a wrestling move. "NO. NO..." She just wanted the baby to get here.

Brian felt weak yet elated when the time arrived. Of course, he had no idea what he was doing, but he did get to clip the cord. Of course, Brian was starving, but happy to hold the crying baby.

Finally when they were all tucked in, back in the room and Ivy wasn't quite as irritable, she kept smiling of their accomplishment. Brian smiled too. Seeing their son left him speechless.

"I don't want to name him after anybody in our family," Ivy informed Brian, who nodded as if he would do or say anything she wanted. "He's a part of us."

Brian couldn't imagine where this was going. Was she going to call him Ivan or something? He kept his eyes wide open as the dark-eyed baby slept in her arms. Still, he thought he might nod off asleep.

"Let's call him Logan." She remembered how the chief of the Omaha tribe died in his first buffalo hunt. Brian yawned and gave a sigh.

"But I'm not from the Omaha tribe." He winced.

"Then what have you got?" She looked back at him as if he better come up with something good.

"Let's just go with Keanu." Brian nodded. "He's my favorite actor."

She didn't say no. Brian sighed with a smile. Was she actually agreeing with him on something?
