this we know

Lux couldn't let Bree bring her down. She'd always known Bree as the one who was the center of everyone's attention, but she didn't know Bree was Will's cousin.

"It's just so freaking weird," Lux told Will's step-mom Clare. "I just can't see them as cousins." But it was so much more than that. She felt Bree was in a separate universe and Lux wasn't so sure she liked Will having to be there for her.

True, she knew Bree wouldn't remember her. After all, it took weeks that turned into months for Bree to wake up from a drug-induced coma. Even then there were chunks of memories she couldn't remember. Although, Lux was certain Will would be good memories.

Yet, for Will to have to rehash his life with his ex, Gabby must have been ugly (especially, to drag up the past as if it were yesterday.) Lux didn't even know how to console him.

"He knows its the past," Clare had faith in him. "Besides, you are the future." Lux was starting a family with him. There was a lot to get through. Clare told her that she liked the changes she'd seen in Will. "He's grown up so much."

Still, Lux felt a bit sad about that. She didn't want to be the one to keep him from being who he was. She knew he was an artist. She'd been a fan of his ever so unrequited. But he was working, perhaps taking a path that would never let him get back to his sketch pad of stories and comics.

She loved to watch him, even eating pancakes, or doing the dishes with him. Yes, it was those little things that kept their love simmering. It was a warmth that didn't lose touch. They were better together.
