what's a friend to do?

"I dunno, what to really do," Arlo shrugged when Torry's older brother Casey asked why he really wanted them to come.

Torry wasn't even home when they arrived, but Arlo roomed with him so it would be OK. Arlo doubted Torry's brothers would stress him. Besides, Arlo felt Torry really needed family at a time like this.

Chance, Torry's younger brother unloaded their luggage. There was plenty of room for the two. Casey was a year older than Torry and Chance was just out of high school, but had decided to put off studying for a year. Of course, they would come if their brother needed them.

"I just hope you two can talk some sense into him." Arlo hated to tell them that he thought his closest friend was suicidal.

"What's your relationship to him?" Casey wanted to know. The question alarmed Arlo to the point that he text Gabby for help.

"Oh, we went to art school together and when he got on at the University here he asked if I could come and..and help him out. We've been friends for a long time." Of course, he felt a little sad that Torry never mentioned him to his brothers. But Torry didn't talk much about his brothers, either.

Casey worked from home as a broker and Chance was a would-be surfer. Both looked a little landlocked to be in Nebraska.

Arlo had no idea how long they could stay, but he'd work on Team Torry and hope they could support him with good energy.
