Happy Valentines Day!

Casey was doing his best these days, trying to stay out of his little brother's love life. As it was, he was certain Chance had no chance with Rosie.

Macaroons were on his mind. He felt destined to make some as if that would feel the void of a lover's day. So he was in the midst of flour and spices when he found himself asking, "What would Lynsey do?"

He expected his imaginary friend to show up any second and tell him what he should buy for such a delicious treat. Instead, he heard someone say near his shoulder, "What are you talking about?"

It was a female's voice and Casey practically jumped as he turned to her.

"That's my name," she told him. Casey nodded wondering why he couldn't keep his mouth shut. Especially, about Lynsey.

"Do you spell it with a Y?" He looked her over thinking she was too short for his age, but then again, Casey wasn't that tall.

"No, with an I," Linsey clarified. "What are you making?"

"I'm not sure anymore," he told her wanted to cheer his brother up who was having girlfriend issues, but he was sure it would be too much to make macaroons.

"Oh, I know a bakery that sales them," Linsey smiled.

"Really?" He looked at her blankly.

"What? You don't believe me?" He watched her mouth move, but he wasn't sure he was listening.

"Come on," Her smile was open. Before he knew it, she was holding his hand as she moved his empty cart away as she lead the way.

"But..but it's frigid out," Casey detested the sub windchills on a sunny day.

"You must not be from around here, then." She shook with laughter.

She was the first townie he'd met since he'd been here. He wasn't so sure what Lynsey would think. As it was, he was nowhere in sight. Casey supposed he was all on his own to see where the day would take him.
