on an evening like today

Earlier in the day Koda and Vanna went to Jools and Mick's for lunch. Sort of a late wedding get-together for Jools and Mick as well as for Chevy and Simon too. Thankfully, Steve and his girlfriend came so Vanna wouldn't be all by her lonesome.

Still, he was sure Vanna didn't like Victoria. Yes, Vanna complained later that they had nothing to talk about. "We never talked in school, you know. She was in the art crowd." Vanna was being her snobby self. Everyone could tell.

Koda only nodded. Yes, he supposed Vanna would have definitely been a posser in the art crowd. He couldn't force her to be friends with anyone. But Victoria was so receptive, listening to Mick talk about horses and horseback rides and how great of horseman Jools was while they were out in the outback of the Black Hills.  Naturally, Vanna sighed more than once. What was her problem? Did she just want an audience or something?

Now he was worried about how she might react to Jay's new girlfriend Lindy. Could they possibly be friends? Sure, there was Misty who kept everyone happy. And Vanna held Hope as if she might be the perfect babysitter.

Honestly, it sort of made him smile.

"What's so funny?" Jay wanted to know as he passed another beer to Koda.

"Oh, I dunno." He drank with the guys as if it were the thing to do, but he wondered if he should be by Vanna's side. Maybe she wanted him holding the baby. About then the fellow with the cane came over to see what was happening on the smokey grill.

Koda could tell Jay didn't know what to say to him. Of course, the guy only spoke to Slater and Slater had a way of including him.

He introduced Bishop. Jay asked him if he wanted a beer. Bishop shook his head, no. He didn't drink. Koda asked him what he did at the University. Of course, before he knew it, Bishop was talking all about the projects going on. His fiancee worked with him.

Jay chuckled then mentioned to Koda, "Do you think you could work with Vanna all day?"

Koda only smiled. It was doubtful, but he knew who would be the boss and it wouldn't be him.

    1. Some men think of their partner being the "boss". Some infact like to be told what to do..or the idea of..well, it's HER fault how this turned out. Still, in Koda's mind of thinking..he knows if he wants things to go OK in their relationship, he better do what ever she says. Of course, sometimes the tables are turned. And in a lot of cases, many of us women feel we are the ones who still have the worst child that's at home. Honestly, I feel we all have our own pov and it still might not be the accurate story.

Your question Why can't the boss be a girl? Well, there are lot that are, but this is mainly about the "relationship" not work..although, it takes work to make the relationship work.

  9. Oh, I do want to know more about Mick & Jools and the horseback riding..=) I am glad that Vanna met Victoria. That would be interesting if they become friends. But the real question..what happened when Steve met Simon after all this time with both having new significant others?

I feel Koda and Vanna are learning their way. Group situations are always a good time to find out who your friends and even relationships are.

  10. Oh, Vanna! ' " We never talked in school, you know. She was in the art crowd." Vanna was being her snobby self. Everyone could tell." I never know if she's truly a mean girl or just insecure. Wait, I just answered my own question -- she's both, because mean girls are insecure. It's why they're so mean! Anyway, this storyline obviously interests me. Especially if we get to hear Victoria's side of things. :)
