Once I had a love and it was divine

Well, Lily knew she should have expected this. She sat alone for quite a while, letting it sink in. Boone got a new roommate.

She sucked in a breath. Oh, he was much more forthcoming than she would ever be. She would be staying in Chicago. Really, she wanted to say it was Gram's fault. She was the one who talked her into coming to see her mother and her new family.

Gram all the while moved into a retirement community. Lily was still furious. It was like everyone knew it would happen but her.

So it wasn't that she'd fallen out of love with Boone, exactly. Of course, she missed him, but with graduation came freedom and well, maybe it was best to be alone. Although, that wasn't quite true. She'd met Alonzo.

Still, nothing had happened yet. But maybe that might change since Boone had Maddie now.

Maddie, of all people! It made Lily furious. Of course, she said nothing. She didn't want him to know what a true wild cat she could be. "Of course, it'll work out," she'd said about the matter. "You are truly a good guy."

Had she laughed when she said it? She sighed at the thought of Boone and Maddie doing anything together. Although, she didn't want to hurry back. She would only make matters worse. Why had it all turned out this way?

Waiting on the sex had done her in. Oh, he wanted her to worry about her studies and to graduate. Even Gram had seconded it. It was truly a waiting game with Boone. Was love supposed to be that way?

She did love him, didn't she?

She looked around her mother's guestroom. It was truly new and inviting. Her mother's new place was amazing. It was so fresh. And she didn't have to babysit the little ones entirely.

It had been good to visit with her mother. Talk about old times. Sure her mother was busy with the little ones. But her mother was doing fine these days. And Lily even liked who she was with now. It was everything Boone said it would be.

She thought maybe she knew his purpose now. He wanted her to be with her family. The family that she needed. If it wasn't going to work out with her Dad then she should at least try with her Mom.

And then she met Alonzo. He was someone her mother worked with down at the microbrewery. He was quite cool and he showed her around the new places that were quaint and totally trending. She liked spending time with him. It was just what she needed this summer.

Oh, it was all going so well. She hated to end it with Boone. She couldn't. Not just yet, but maybe she already had.

  5. Sometimes it feels like we don't know which way to go, I think the story is at an impasse! I hope she doesn't forget him, but that with the distance she has time to rethink everything and that her love is ever greater, this is my wish for her! Happy June!

  6. Well, not everything in life goes our way... And you have to love, because love gives you wings. The choices we make are not always easy either...

  7. Lily hasn't finished yet with Boone; she doesn't want it yet. However, she's got another perspective - Alphonzo. Good for her!

  8. Oh wow I didn't see this coming. Boone with Maddie and now Lily moving on! Wow! I am looking forward to where you take this. Lily in Chicago... with Alonzo. Close to me. :) Will Boone and Maddie go the distance?

  9. I hope she makes her mind clear about Boone or new friend.
Unlike older times moving on seems easier.
Earlier people had less freedom and options which kept them focused on keep trying to make first relationship as much as possible.

It worked for some and didn't for others.
One thing though that relationship that cross ups and downs grow exceptionally strong latter
