Vanna didn't care if she had a Halloween baby. She just wanted him to get here. At the moment she felt like a waddling duck. Her stomach was all baby.
"Oh, I bet it's water retention," Mali joked. It made Vanna furious. At least there was Remi (Harry's cousin) who was also pregnant and on her side.
"No, you better ask for a C-section," Remi shook her head, while they were all gathered around the livingroom for mock cocktails they were trying out before their Halloween bash.
"What do you mean?" Vanna was horrified.
"I bet he's a ten-pounder," Remi shrugged and went back to sipping her mock Sunset drink.
"Don't say that," Vanna sighed. Of course, the mock cocktails were her idea and the girls were over at her place. Suddenly, she felt her size 0 was coming to an end. She closed her eyes thinking of her sacrifice.
She frowned. This was all Koda's fault. How could he?
"So if it is a boy, I bet it looks just like Koda's mother's father," Remi informed her.
"I don't even know who that is," Vanna was baffled by this news.
"Stop scaring her," Mali was ever so playful with her blue drink. Seriously, Vanna was starting to wonder if Mali brought her own vodka in that water bottle. She was not on call.
"What do you," Remi practically smirked, "You're the one making her think she's done something wrong. She's caring genes that are too huge for her body."
Vanna drank her entire fake margarita as if she'd had enough.
"Did you have a baby shower?" Remi asked.
"Wouldn't you have been here, if she'd had one?" Mali scowled back as if Remi was ridiculous.
"Well, I don't know, I'm not having one." Remi shrugged.
"What? What do you mean, you aren't having one?" Mali looked at her stunned.
"Well, I'm not asking anyone for one," Remi winced as if it was all just silly.
"Do you have anything ready for the baby?" Vanna asked. She could see Remi was due soon too.
"Not really," she shook her head, no. "I've seen on YouTube how you can use a laundry basket."
"A laundry basket?" Mali yelped as if she'd really lost it this time.
"Yeah, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to make the bedding," Remi was serious.
"Girl, do you even have a sewing machine?" Mali snapped.
Remi cracked up with laughter. "I'll think of something."
"I'm telling Harry about this, and he'd tell your people what the deal is," Mali gave her the eye.
"Why..why don't we just have the baby shower here," Vanna smiled thinking she could at least do that much.
Remi laughed, "Baby, you are having a baby, I don't think so."
Vanna smiled, holding her stomach. She liked Remi, maybe more than she liked Mali.
