It won't be long til Christmas

 "We got too many of the K-Pop Demon Hunters shirts!" Kat's little sister was in a tizzy. Yes, it was crowded when they were in 5 Below, and they made a beeline to the new merchandise. These were the Idol concert ones, or so Chloe informed her. She grabbed as many as she could and then fell in love with the little backpack. She pleaded with Kat to get her that for Christmas, of course, she wanted makeup, too.

"Well, we got one for Dad." Kat shrugged. "At this rate, we can have a group picture and call it our Demon Hunter Christmas."

"Maybe..maybe we could give one to Darry," Chloe grinned from ear to ear.

"And how are we going to do that, huh?" Kat practically rolled her eyes. Before they could figure this one out, her grandmother called from the kitchen to ask Kat if she was wearing her glasses. She wasn't.

"My eyes need to rest!" She shouted back. 

Chloe told her she looked older wearing glasses. "And smarter too," she giggled.

"Whatever," Kat hugged herself, sitting cross-legged at the coffee table, trying to sift through all the tees. She did get the backpack her sister wanted. She guesses she'd find her some lipgloss and eyeshadow at the Dollar Tree.

"We could ask Theo," Chloe said they were friends. Naturally, Theo was taking advantage of the warm weather and shooting hoops with their cousin, Alec.

"He is not." Kat glared at her.

"How would you know?"

"I talk to him too," she shrugged.

"To Darry?" Chole didn't believe her. Kat knew that tone. 

"Just forget it." Kat fretted.

"Do you have his number?"

"No."

Kat looked over at the twinkling Christmas tree in the corner. They would all meet here for Christmas at noon. Mom wouldn't come to the house, but Kat wasn't going to say anything. Weren't they used to this by now? Still, she wished they were home. Of course, they'd probably be fighting over the remote.

"We should just wrap them up and you know, be done with it. If we see Darry, we'll give it to him." Kat decided.

"But I don't know how to wrap packages."

"You will by the time we're done with these." Kat gave her the eye. "Remember, practice makes better."
