what's to know

"I still can't believe you made it." Jonah knew he was smiling way too much, but it was a shock that Gilly was here.

"Well, I-I'm not into wasting a good ticket, you know." Gilly showed up where Jonah worked. Evidently, things were looking up for him. He'd passed the test he'd been studying for. He was still waiting on a better job. And there was the baby, that was keeping him a little busy these days.

"No one's taken him yet." It seemed the baby was quite unpleasant, unless Gilly was around. He spent every day with the little bugger. Jonah didn't know if he could get used to the idea, but Gilly planned on adopting this kid.

"Oh." Jonah didn't know a thing about children, but he could show Gilly what he did for a living. It all had to do with sound and buttons and the like. He really didn't know how to explain it. "Tonight, we'll do an all nighter. Play that game you like." Jonah hadn't played any video games since being at Gilly's.

"Aw, I've been slacking off, me self. Just no time for it." Gilly shrugged as if they'd have to find something else to do. But what?

Just then Ste walked in on their little tour Jonah was taking Gilly on.

"What's this?" He heard Ste's laugh. "There two of you, mate?"

Jonah scowled. "What are you going on about?"

"You never said you had a twin." Ste remarked.

"I don't." Jonah squinted hard.

"Well, who's this?" Ste looked at Gilly as if he were a joke of some kind.

"My friend." Jonah was completely disgusted with Ste. Jonah was beginning to think his weekends might be better off if he took the train to Gilly's to be with him and the baby.

  1. I'm not sure Ste is getting any brownie points with Jonah, as of late.

  3. Maybe Ste isn't as good as Jonah thought he was.
