nanananana....

Zac wasn't into babysitting. Naturally, he gave Syreeta the cold shoulder.

He wanted to show them both what he'd created. The song was much better now on the keyboard. Sure, Derrick had skills, and he was at least trying not to take over. But now they had to put up with this so-called sister of Fish's.

He wouldn't look at her. He knew how to ignore her. Why give her a chance? It was just the one time. Hopefully.

She remained mute as if she could be just as indifferent as he could. There was Fish doing his best to stay encouraging and yet he was talking to no one.

When Zac did glance at Syreeta from time to time, Sunny came to mind. He knew she wasn't Sunny. Syreeta was so young and she made cookies which were on his kitchen counter now.

"OK, let Syreeta play something. Lets get her take on the song." Fish nodded as if that would be good.

"I just don't know..."

Before he could finish his sentence, she started picking out the tune on his cheap electric guitar. She made the instrument sound better than he ever did.

He gave her a disgusted look. Although, she was excellent with her musical skills. He went back to the keyboard to see if he could possibly keep up. She let him.

"Derrick probably won't let her in the band," Zac said after the last note.

"What?" Fish squinted as if that was not an option. "He's letting me play the stupid cowbell." Fish looked at him blankly, as if they both knew Fish was definitely not needed in the band. "Syreeta, get over there and show him what you can do on the drums." He gave Zac the eye as if he knew very well they needed Syreeta.

Zac only swelled a frown and went back to the keyboard, as if he'd try again. Hoping he wasn't the weakest link.
