if thats not enough

It was days after Ricki gave birth to her baby, but it felt like yesterday to Olivia. It was so intense.

"I had  no idea it would be anything like that," she said to her sister Penelope. Olivia was over to see Aaron and staying for dinner, without Luc. Of course, she couldn't say it, but she felt kind of naked without him. "She really looked so miserable. I couldn't really do a thing to help. I thought she might go crazy.'

Peneleope chuckled as if Olivia was being too funny. She went to check on the pot roast.

"So when do I get to meet this Luc?" Penelope's question was a challenge.

"I-I-" Olivia was lost for words. What was she suppose to say? She was practically living with him. "I'm not sure." Olivia hugged herself as if maybe she'd done a very bad thing. She didn't mean for it to be wrong. "He's..he's a really good friend." He was more than just a friend. Now she felt so dishonets, wondering what Penelope would think.

"So you say." Penelope looked at her out of the corner of her eye. "Look, I'm glad you have him. I want you to be happy."

Olivia nodded, but she was straight lipped.

"Just say when, I could work something out. We want to meet him." She meant her and Elliot. "We're your family. Have you met his family?"

"Not, exactly." Olivia wasn't sure she was ready to meet Luc's parents. Suddenly, she felt as if she were not ready for all this new life. Of course, she wanted to be with Luc, but couldn't they keep it small and very quaint for themselves?
