"You know, I'm really not liking this..this Joey." Even Josie couldn't believe she said it to Xander's face.
At least they were at her place. Not his, because somebody was hiding out there. Now.
"He's got no job. I mean, why support him?" She pressed on with her questions as if she needed to shake him up a little. Xander was just so quiet these days.
"It won't last forever." Xander shook his head. He sounded once spring got here and things started to thaw, well, Joey might migrate..south..or something.
Josie sighed, maybe she was tired of getting fat. Of course, someone was becoming a stomping ground and she was having to withstand her own earthquake, inside her.
"I.... think..its wrong." She reminded him, that once not so long ago, Xander told her how let down Joey was, when he found out Xander was gay.
"That should have been a red flag, right then. And now you're sleeping with him." She fumed while she was making him a cup of tea.
"People, do have to sleep, you know." He looked at her sideways. "I've slept with people, all my life..but ..not like you think." He sighed.
"OK." Josie finally said. "I get it..but..but what if someone comes along and you know..you really want to do more than sleep with them, and you've got this guy..hiding out, at your place. Who knows, maybe the feds are after him."
Xander's eyes lit, as if he'd never imagined such a thing.
"Oh, Xander, stop seeing only the good in him." She grabbed his shoulders and gave him a good shaking. It was time for her to find him someone. Someone with a future, and who liked guys, too.
Josie does make sense in her thoughts.
