Sara didn't know why they had to rush into all this. But as soon as Taylor got wind of what Minnie said..he was ready to go to the emergency room with her.
"Just because Minnie thinks she knows everything..." She didn't know where to start. No way could this possibly be happening. It just couldn't happen.
But he went out in the middle of the night and picked up a pregnancy test from the nearby drug store. He couldn't rest until she took it.
So at 4 in the morning they were in the bathroom waiting for the test results.
"I don't even feel pregnant." She informed him. Not that she would know, but she'd been so tired lately. Of course, she was always on her feet. She needed to be creative at a moments notice, from ideas of window dressings to sale flyers at work. It was a little overwhelming, but she always picked up the slack.
But there it was, right before her eyes. She felt faint. It couldn't possibly be true.
"I'll go with you." He sounded as if she was his queen and he was her knight, waiting to be the best dad in the world.
"All right." She was almost shaking.
"What's wrong?" The way his eyes lit, that she might need to be in the hospital for the next nine months.
"I might feel better if I have a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich." Sara kept studying the test at the bathroom sink while he went to make it. "And..and don't forget the milk." She needed milk. Whole milk. But all they had was low-fat. Still, she was hungry..so hungry.
Such an exciting, yet unexpected piece of news.
