Will was ready to throw a book in the YA section of the library. Maybe it would make it all the way to adult nonfiction, a few shelves over.
He sighed in his despair, wondering what to do about Valentines Day. Joey was skimming through some booksale DVDs. Although, he was technically working, but he'd finished up his cart and there were none left.
Will looked over his shoulder to see Randy walking toward him.
"What are you doing here?" Will asked. Didn't they see enough of each other at home? Yes, Randy still hadn't struck it out on his own. He did have his GED and he did have his job down at the grocery store, but he was taking a light load of college classes now. Ivy wanted him to study, although, Randy was undeclared at the moment.
"I dunno. Valentines day is coming." Randy said he'd bought some candy. "I thought you guys might need some in the breakroom."
"When did you start being so nice?" Will remained even lipped.
"I guess Ivy made me that way." His grin was pleasant enough.
Will still didn't think they'd last this long.
"You two, must be tight." Will shrugged.
"Aren't you and Gabby?" Randy looked at him, as if Gabby was like a little sister to him now. "I thought you were her best friend."
"She doesn't tell me, everything." His voice was dull as he went to put a handful of graphic novels away.
"Yeah, well..maybe you two should hang out with Ivy and me." He sounded as if he and Ivy would know how to make things better.
Will yawned, though he meant to laugh.
"I dunno if I can get her away from that recording studio. It keeps her pretty busy. Now she's got this Howie, always hanging around, and she just texted me to say she wants to do something with this Geo and his boyfriend...I don't think she's got time for me."
"You get on that phone, you tell you've got Valentines day plans for her." Randy looked at him as if he better do it, right now.
Will sighed and took his cell out, from his back pocket. Personally, he wanted to crawl in bed to sleep the rest of winter, but maybe this would be a good time to spend Valentines day with friends.
I like that Randy is pushing him out of his comfort zone!

Good for Randy for giving him a good push... it sounds exactly like what he needs...
