"Why? Why..do you always make me the bad guy!" Geo was practically going in circles. Sometimes, Ellis could get dizzy, from just watching him.
"Stop." Ellis sighed and pointed to the seat at the piano. "Just do it from the beginning."
He wanted to trust Geo. They'd gone through this song so many many times. He knew he could do it, but then, for no apparent reason, Geo would start playing THE ENTERTAINER.
Geo made a face, but finally got back to the place where Ellis wanted him.
"You know, you can make money, doing this." Ellis went over it, again. It would only be a few times a week in the afternoon, but it would help out Ellis so much.
Geo attempted the intro but bluntly plunged into the keys once more and stopped.
"Don't you want to be with that guy?" Geo said it as if Ellis was being cruel.
Ellis only winced hard.
"Just..just shut up." He didn't mean to be angry. He bit his bottom lip. "Look, I don't think I'm even ready for a relationship." He told Geo. "I don't even have friends."
"What do you mean, you don't have friends?" Geo looked at him.
"Who? Who would date their boss? Anyway?" Ellis decided that might be the better question.
"Of course." Geo rolled his eyes at that. "You're so mature and all..while..that bleached blonde is.." He kind of laughed. "Probably has a boyfriend, every place he goes."
Geo did sound like he was on Ellis' side.
"Play. Play the piano." Ellis was about to say 'please', but Geo started the slow sad song, but stopped before he got to the chorus.
"We're friends? We're friends, aren't we?" He looked at Ellis.
"Yes, we're friends." Ellis told him.
Geo focused on the music before him and placed his fingers on the right chords. Finally, he played the music perfectly.
Geo breaks my heart sometimes.
