"Well, of course, I'm spending Halloween with Will." Ivy looked Gabby in the eye. It felt so odd having her follow her to her locker.

"Cool." She was sure if Gabby had an emogi to press, she would and be done with this awkward conversation. "So..so you..you and Will?"

Ivy nodded trying not to smile. After all, Gabby was with Will....what seemed..forever. "Uh-huh."

"How..." Gabby held on to her books as if it might shield her from falling to pieces. "How..how..did you..do it?"

"What?" Ivy looked at Gabby a bit startled.

"I dunno..he's just so happy. He..he was never that happy with me." She looked down at her books.

Ivy thought Gabby might be crying.

"He's always been quiet." Ivy knew.

"He was always acting like a big brother, too." Gabby told her. "But..but he's in love with you."

"I saw you with that guy, at Homecoming." Ivy smiled. It really wasn't the end of the world, for Gabby.

Gabby sort of smiled, but not really.

"I'll ruin that, too." Her confidence was low. Ivy knew she needed a friend.

"What's going on?" Ivy knew Gabby didn't want to talk about her and Will.

"I don't think ..you want to know." Gabby did look a little sad.

"You, can tell me." Ivy said.

"I..I'd rather.." She sighed as if she was perhaps sick. "You, can't tell Will. Promise me. You, won't tell Will."

Ivy nodded, but she didn't want to keep secrets from Will.
