the little revelations

Macy and Draco spent New Year's eve with Smed and his new girlfriend Naomi. It wasn't until they all ended up at his sister's Effy's that she realized how much Naomi looked like Effy.

"Don't you think that's strange?" She'd asked Draco later.

"Not any stranger, than you making excuses for Ste." Draco thought she should be worried. He could tell how broken-hearted Gabby was over all the holiday celebrations. Was it over between those two?

No, she wanted to know more about where Smed met Naomi (who was from Tokyo). Smed said they didn't meet in Tokyo, but where he worked. She was with a preschool group at the museum where he worked weekends with Draco. After all, Draco didn't see the resemblance between Effy and Naomi.

Macy didn't really want to talk about her adoped sister Gabby and Stephen's uncle...Ste.

"I just think the less we say about it, the better it will be..for all of us." Macy decided about the matter.

"You're starting to sound like your mother, you know." Draco told her.

They were in bed during the long winter freeze. No way were they going anywhere in this sub-zero week. She handed Stephen over to him, to change.

She winced thinking he knew nothing. She'd never ever be anything like her mother.

Still, she couldn't help but think..Smed finally met a girl, and she looked like his sister.
