Sunny & Rosie
What was Sunny thinking? Summer school would be fun?
"I dunno, we would be at the pool by now if we weren't here." Rosie shook her head.
"Oh, you'll thank me, later." His smile was a little coy. She rolled her eyes at that.
He talked about Xander being in summer school. "It was the least I could do," Sunny said he wanted to try his best to get into better classes in the fall. "Maybe, if I keep this up I can get into college classes sooner."
Rosie almost made a face of disgust, thinking why would he want to do that. Of course, she wasn't sure what she would be doing this summer, but babysitting anyway. At least, they'd be having lunch together for the rest of the month and they could hang out at school. She did want to stay on the right track.
He promised they would go to the pool on the weekends. And they wouldn't have Dakota to put up with. She had a new friend now and a new home and she was happy to be with her new Mom who was expecting a baby in the fall.
Things were changing. Just like the rainy days were now hot and dry. Still, Rosie felt she still didn't have her dad around like she wanted. A lot was still the same, but she was happy to be with Sunny. She didn't worry so much about her Dad like she used too. She was pretty sure he thought of her, less and less.
