Ugh, what was Xander trying to accomplish? Matty wanted to stay to himself in his room, but it seemed everytime he turned around there was Dakota to contend with.
"This used to be my room," she informed him that she used to live here.
"Yeah, yeah," Matty groaned as if he didn't want to hear the same old story, again and again. Her step-mom was in and out of the hospital lately with her delicate pregnancy.
It was one of those pregnancies where she couldn't eat without getting horribly sick. It sounded like she wanted to have the baby early. Yes, Dakota might end up living here again. But Matty couldn't help but think she was trouble.
Of course, Xander planned on him going with Dakota out on Halloween night. This made Matty want to come down with something. Meanwhile, she was showing him how to play card games while he only wanted to play games on his phone.
Maybe, he was getting too old for this. He liked being by himself. Sunny was never around, and he could deal with that. School was hard enough to keep up with. He might have looked organized to the naked eye, but this took a lot of work on his part.
For once, he felt safe. He liked it at Xander and Ducky's, but this girl named Dakota was so annoying.
"She's not that much younger than you." Xander reminded him that he was fourteen and she was almost ten.
This left Matty worried. Were they expecting them to fall in love or something? That was not going to happen. Somehow, he'd manage to suffer through Halloween, quietly.
